An IE Perspective on Technology Transfer

Technology Transfer is the process whereby innovation is moved into the environments in which it is translated into societal use. Introduction to Technology Transfer– Issues and Processes, a course presented by Chapter, Board of Directors Member, Richard Leshuk, examines the process and its economic impact from an IE/Systems perspective. Drawing on IE principles of analysis and design, the challenges of the related strategies and techniques are discussed. The course was taught for a number of years at the USDA Graduate School; now the course has moved to the National Institutes of Health campus where is delivered under the auspices of the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences in the FAES/NIH Graduate School Program. Details for TECH 513A can be found in the Course Catalog at www.FAES.org.
