November 2013 – President’s Message

Hello to all Industrial Engineers and friends of Industrial Engineering,

Welcome to our November newsletter.

November means election time. Please consider volunteering for a position on your National Capital Chapter Board. We need directors and previous experience is not necessary. We also need to fill our executive positions. These positions include president, vice-president/president elect, secretary and treasurer. For these four positions, you must have previously served as a director on a Senior Chapter Board. For all positions, directors and executive, you must be a Senior IIE Member in good standings. Good standings mean your membership is paid up in full.

We have outstanding leadership on our board, both directors and executives. However, we need new members, new energy and new blood. This year, we will be losing a few people from both the director and executive ranks, so getting a few new people is more important than ever.

All of the jobs are easy. We make them easy. We work together and make sure that no one person is overwhelmed. At the beginning of each program (calendar) year, we attempt to associate each director with responsibilities that they are genuinely interested in. In a big way, this transforms their responsibilities from tasks to interests.

The contact information for all our executives and board members can be found on our website. At this link . Our home page is located at .

Please consider volunteering. Also, please do not hesitate in contacting any of the current board or executives to discuss responsibilities for the board etc. To volunteer and put your name on our ballot, please send an email to any of the current board/executives members indicating your willingness to run and for what position. Please put on the subject line “National Capital Chapter Elections”.

Thank you,

Russell Wooten
National Capital Chapter President
