May 2010 – President Message

Welcome all Industrial Engineers and Friends of Industrial Engineers to the May edition of our IIE National Capital Chapter Newsletter.

May and summer have arrived. May is a busy month from May Day through Memorial Day; with Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, National Teachers Day and Teacher Appreciation Week, and Armed Forces Day scattered in between.

It is a busy month and then there is June.

There is still time to get to Cancun for vacation. In addition to a great vacation, you can also rejuvenate your career! Our Annual Conference is from June 5th to 9th at the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach Hotel.
This year’s keynote speakers include:

  • Warren B. Powell (Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering, Princeton University)
  • Rob Savage (Chief Operating Officer, Taco Bell Corp.)
  • Antonio J. Dieck-Assad, Ph.D. (President, Universidad de Monterrey)
  • Armando Tamez (COO, Nemak – Monterrey)

You can get all the detail on this event at:
