Jan 2017 – President’s Message

First, thank you for electing me for a third term as your IISE National Capital Chapter President. I will strive to live up to the trust you’ve placed in me. Second, and most importantly, thank you electing an awesome board to work with me this year. We have a bunch of new faces on the board and you will definitely see the added energy they bring in our programs this year. Hopefully you’ll meet them in person very soon, but I’ll also be featuring them in our monthly newsletter spotlight. I know you join me in welcoming them to the Nat Cap team.
Two key people are leaving the chapter team this year and I hope you’ll join me in thanking them for their service. Our membership director, Tiff Cremer, relocated to Seattle earlier this year to work for Amazon. I am sad to see her leave, but glad that she is pursuing her dreams and in some small way, representing us in her new city and company. Theo Nehemias, our university relations director is also leaving us. However, he’s not going far. Theo is trading in his chapter job for a more active role in the IISE Young Professionals organization.

I hope you’re as excited for 2017 as I am. I can hardly wait for the first IIE event of the year. I’ll see you there!
