www.iienet.org
Important components of IIE’s website include the Resource Library, Career Center, Salary Survey, Member Directory, e-Brief newsletter, discounted books, conference proceedings, merchandise, and an online Discussion Center. Members will find a wealth of technical data and information on industrial engineering, as well as tools to help connect with peers and learn from leaders of the profession.
IIE Half-Price Retiree/Life Membership – $69.50
IIE members 60 and over with at least 25 years of consecutive IIE membership who are fully retired from the industrial engineering profession are eligible for half-price retired status membership ($62.50 per year). To have your status changed to “retired,” call IIE Member and Customer Support at (800) 494-0460 or (770) 449-0460.
It’s important to retain IIE membership even after retirement. By virtue of their knowledge and experience, retired members make excellent ambassadors of the profession, serving as mentors to younger professionals, volunteering their time on elected boards and appointed commissions, and helping maintain the value of an industrial engineering education.
Life member member status is awarded to members whose age and continuous years of membership for which dues were paid equal 100. Life members pay half-price annually ($69.50) to retain membership (free membership for those who attained life membership before April, 2005). To determine your join date, review your member profile on the IIE web page www.iienet.org. You will need your member ID number as shown on your annual membership card or call the chapter secretary, Joe Scheibeler at (202)268-5089 or e-mail Joseph.Scheibeler@IIENationalCapital.com. To have your status changed to life member, call IIE Member and Customer Support at (800) 494-0460 or (770) 449-0460.
IIE New Membership/Unemployed/Student Dues Discounts
New Graduates: IIE offers a substantial discount — 50% — to members in their first year of transitioning from student to professional member. Student members pay $30 per year for IIE membership. Contact Member and Customer Support at cs@iienet.org or phone IIE Member and Customer Support at (800) 494-0460 or (770) 449-0460.
Also, if you prove you received IIE’s first year-after-graduation half price discount and join the IIE National Capital Chapter 14, the chapter will reimburse your first year half-price dues.
Unemployed Dues Suspension: To assist members during these uncertain times, IIE is offering a program to temporarily suspend dues payment for members who have recently become unemployed. This will allow members to maintain their membership while searching for employment. Thus, members affected by unemployment can take full advantage of their contacts and member benefits to help secure a new position.
IIE bills each member on his/her anniversary month. Therefore, at the time of billing, if the member is unemployed and in a compromised financial position, he or she may request a temporary six-month extension of dues. Members may apply for the extension by completing the application on the IIE web page (www.iienet.org). On the iienet.org home page, select search and type “unemployed.” See form for application and verification details and return it completed to Robyn Dowdall at IIE Headquarters by mail, fax or e-mail as instructed on the form. If you need further information, phone IIE Member and Customer Support at (800) 494-0460 or (770) 449-0460 or e-mail cs@iienet.org.
