Call for papers – Industrial Advisory Board (IIE 2011 National conference)


It is our pleasure to invite you to present in the Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) Track at the 2011 Institute of Industrial Engineering Annual Conference & Expo ( ). The conference will be held May 21-25, 2011 at the Grand Sierra Resort Hotel in Reno, Nevada.

Presenters will give 35 or 70 minute talks on the industry-focused topics being addressed by the IAB. PowerPoint slides of your presentation are necessary; however papers accompanying the presentation material are not required.

Description of Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) Track
Track Title: “Industry Practitioner’s Forum”

This track will highlight some of the industry-focused topics that have been discussed recently by the Industry Advisory Board (IAB). This includes:

  • IE Career Management in Industry: Sharing what IEs should know about the skills and capabilities necessary to advance their careers;
  • Bridging the gap between Academia and Industry: Collaborating with and leveraging University IE Departments for mutual benefit;
  • How to develop an expanded industry focus to the IIE organization; and
  • Examples of industries that leverage the IIE organization.

Submission Process

In order to submit your presentation abstract for consideration, you will have to first register as an author. After this step is completed, you will be given an author login which will permit you to submit your abstract. Important Due Dates:

November 12, 2010 — Deadline for abstract submissions
December 10, 2010 — Notification of acceptance
March 19, 2011 — PowerPoint presentation due
April 1, 2011 — Speaker registration deadline
