2014 Science Fair Judges Needed

Every year local grade, middle, and high schools call upon area professional societies to act as Science Fair, Special Award Judges. General, academic judging is generally handled by teachers; the Special Award Judges volunteer to review projects which meet the topic criteria set by their individual sponsoring organizations. In IIE’s case we are looking to recognize and encourage students dealing with IE related projects, e.g. cost effectiveness, efficiency, operations research- like, human factors. Volunteering as a Science Fair judge aids the Chapter in meeting its goals and provides a unique opportunity to participate promoting science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among young people. There are far are more opportunities for judging than the Chapter can staff. Consider volunteering for a Science Fair in your locale. If you are new to the process, consider shadowing one of the Chapter’s experienced judges at an upcoming event. Contact Russell Wooten at for additional details.
