Award of Merit and Distinction in Engineering Sciences

The Washington Academy of Sciences has selected OMNI President Neal Schmeidler to receive an Award of Merit and Distinction in Engineering Sciences. This award recognizes Neal’s persistent and successful efforts applying his knowledge of industrial engineering theory, techniques and practices to address and solve public sector management challenges. The award also recognizes his contributions to the success of professional organizations.

The Academy, which was founded in 1898, has been honoring distinguished Washington-area scientists since 1940. As an award recipient, Neal joins a group that already includes such luminaries as Harry Diamond, Lewis Branscomb, Maxine Singer, W. Edwards Deming, Jesse Bernard and Nobelists William D. Phillips and John Mather.
